We can’t change the term “enemy” because the original author specifically wanted it to call it enemy. enemy is more like the name of the species itself. I will differentiate plain enemy and the species enemy by capitalizing the species enemy. “Enemy”

9. So the recent chapters updates has changes with the names of the characters, can I ask that it be consistent with the previous chapters of previous translator? I do understand that the translator seemingly changed but the naming shouldn’t since it’s becoming a mess. even the him and her is becoming blurred, lol. oh well, can’t ask much, can only say good luck.!

13. Words from the new translator
    Hi guys. I’m the new translator starting from chapter 65. It’s very difficult not to change any names because :

    1. no one provided me with the previous translations- I had to find this website on my own and read them myself. If I did read the previous translations, I would’ve tried to make at least the names similar.

    2. I read them but disagree with some of the translations.

    So… here are some of the names and terms that might have been changed.

    Gwangrim= gwanglim (L is the more accurate pronunciation)

    Hojok/tiger tribe= Tiger clan(clan is descended from a common ancestor, tribe is more of a cultural group)

    Ongjok, Ungjok, bear tribe= bear clan

    Tojok, Rabbit tribe= rabbit clan

    Youngjok, Dragon tribe= dragon clan

    Jinjok= Original clan (it’s the literal meaning. and it’s much more understandable)

    Shin-rok= Shin-lok (L is the more accurate pronunciation)

    Red phantom thief= Phantom of the Red Wall (the Korean name has the word ‘wall’ in it. Why leave it out?)

    Wolgung, wolgoong= Moon palace (The meaning behind names is so important in this novel, or at least I felt so.)

    Wolgunggyedo= moon palace map

    Hwangho= golden tiger
    Baekho= white tiger
    Eunho= silver tiger
    (see? Now you know the meaning behind the names. The head of the tiger clan is golden tiger. It makes much more sense now)

    If you are confused with any more names and such, feel free to comment them. I’ll read the comments from time to time and try my best to answer them.

15. the translation is confusing a lot of times but the narrative of this novel is soooo good that it’s worth sticking to! i think it has the potential to stand in the same place and popularity as TCF and Omniscient Reader. it has a mystery that draws you in. the main character and supporting characters all have distinct personalities which shines through even with the wonky translation. everyone around the main character is good and kind that you kinda just want to protect them. what i love most tho is that the main character treats them all well. he doesn’t treat them as characters from a game, tho he does refer that to them sometimes, but treats and cares for them as friends and actual people. they’re not just tools. he has a genuine connection to them and he genuinely wants the best for them.

    i wanna see the MC faint at least once like cale ahahaha but the story is just starting!

    the translation has gotten better in the recent chapters tho sooo thank you, new translator! i hope it just improves more and more!

24. First, thank you so much for translating this novel.

    The last three chapters have been like a disaster however. The names of characters, past events and abilities and titles are so messy that they are not even consistent within the chapter. Pronouns are also messy, and sometimes you need to guess that “I” should be “he” purely because you know who did what in a previous chapter. Sometimes I can’t even understand what they are saying because the sentences make no sense.

    I have checked the MTL for this novel and yes, this version is better, but only slightly. This series needs a translator who has read the previous chapters, and an editor who knows what they’re doing. And a standardised name list, because it’s very confusing to keep changing names all the time.

25. thank you for the translation! I’ve been binge reading this novel in one go and loving it!

    The only problem I have is just the consistency of the names and terms that are used here. It’d sometimes translated into english and then suddenly changed into the korean terms which is hard to keep track of without trying to guess which is what. Same problem with the pronounce. I just hope the team would use a fix term for all the chapters or put notes when they decide to change the terms at least.

26. I think reading this gave me mild to severe brain damage. Specially that part where finally the translation became relatively good and then it became absolute d*****t again. It’s even worse than the first translator(assuming the new translator is different person). Some of the names even changed a multiple times in a single chapter, a lot of sentences doesn’t even make sense. It’s just sad.

    Still, thanks for translating this.
