The “Master swordsman” who was reincarnated, wants to live freely Volume 1 “Swordmaster princess” bodyguard Chapter 10

Getting off a small path, I made my way towards the back of the school.

While I was being stared at by the other students, I just had to keep on running.

I have to say, something as childish as this has been going on for quite a while.

Even being chased around was quite childlike – But still, Iris had a speed that most wouldn’t be able to compare to.

Both of us had our physical performances enhanced by using our magic.

I wasn’t called a “Swordmaster” just by being good at swordsmanship though.

It’s because I can effectively use swordsmanship and magic together.

However, humans have their limits.

You can say that exerting the same power as what I had in my previous life would be rather reckless, though.

(That being said, lowering my performance now would result in me being caught.)

Iris was still close behind.

I was supposed to have already created quite a distance by now, but instead, she’s still close by.

She might actually be able to catch me if I slowed down just a little bit.

(I’m not planning for her to chase after me for a whole 30 minutes. I guess it’s time to play hide and seek.)

With that in mind, I quickly made my way to the woods behind the school.

It’s still part of the school grounds, and the forest is rather dense there.

It seems like a better place to hide than the rather open school field, anyway.

It’s a place used for practice, it seems. There are a few marks being left here and there.

I looked behind me, but Iris wasn’t there anymore. With that in mind, I made my way to the top of the trees.

But as soon as I reached the branches, I saw Iris too.

She seemed to be a little bit rushed.

Perhaps, she already lost track of me…

And just like that, she was dashing between the trees.

I came down from the trees myself and saw Iris dash off.

All I have to do now is to kill some time until the time limit has run out, and I win.

“It’s quite important to perceive what the other is about to do – wouldn’t you agree?”

Glancing at me from the back, I heard a voice speak out.

But all that came back was silence.

“Show yourselves. Hiding is useless.”

In response, two robed figures came out of the shadows. They were wearing masks, so I couldn’t see their real faces.

It seems like my new job here was just in time.

-Iris was being targeted by assassins.

“When did you notice?”

One of them asked. Judging by his voice it was a man.

The other person was a man too, judging by his posture.

Seems like their numbers don’t add up. Seems like the third one is after Iris.

“You were here this whole time, waiting for the moment when Iris would be alone?”

I stood before the two assassins.

They just stood there, staring at me.

Should I be getting out of here?

“You came here while knowing that? You’re just a damn child.”

“Well, yea. For now, I am a teacher here. It’s not my job to get rid of interlopers though.”

“You? You’re a teacher? Don’t toy around, boy.”

“Oh, I’m not toying around.”

I opened both my arms wide, taunting the two of them.

They still didn’t move though.

Seems like they are still trying to figure out my movements.

“Judging by your movements we can tell that you’re not just a kid. We also won’t fight with a child who’s without a weapon just like that, though.”

“You don’t underestimate me huh. Well, it’s already over for the two of you though.”

“What~~”

Whilst I said that I took a step forward and swung my arm.

And with the sound of the wind, the two assassin’s necks were sliced off their bodies.

Judging from their faces they had no idea what had actually happened.

“Sorry lads, I’m not called a “Swordmaster” for nothing.” Well then, the real problem is the guy chasing Iris, isn’t it?

Without even looking back at the assassins, I made my way towards Iris.

It seems like my duties as both teacher and knight have met each other soon.
